Is there an age requirement to take the class?
We have had 10-year-old to 86-year-old people take this class with no problem. We will get you there.
How long is the certificate valid?
The certificate is valid for 10 years. For example, a teenager taking the class may submit the certificate once they turn 21.
Do I need a gun?
You are welcome to bring your own gun, however, we do provide a gun for you to use and we don’t charge a rental fee.
Should I buy a gun for the class?
If you are a new shooter, we recommend that you do not purchase a gun until after the class. We will help you sort the various platforms for a gun that fits you, ergonomically and in size.
Do I need to bring ammo to the class?
Yes, we recommend a minimum of 100 rounds, but usually need only 50 rounds. Also look at our store, we sell ammo at a great price!
What do I need to bring to the class?
You will need water, a light lunch, sturdy shoes, pants with a belt and front pockets, a shirt that covers your neck and a great attitude! Also be sure to print and bring the class notes from the online portion of the CHP class: it will be your guide during the classroom portion.
